Started in coaching and sports science, learning what people need when performance and recovery decisions have to work in the real world.
Research, Performance, Systems
Strength Coach, Sports Scientist, and PhD Candidate in Computer Science
Advised by Prof. Rajesh Balan
I build sensing systems for health and human performance, with the long-term goal of improving how we monitor, support, and care for the silver generation.
Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Computer Science at Singapore Management University. Before that, I coached Division I football athletes at the University of Florida and worked on sensing research at Google and Fitbit, experiences that shaped how I think about turning data into practical decisions.
From performance to products to health sensing
01
Started in coaching and sports science, learning what people need when performance and recovery decisions have to work in the real world.
02
At Google and Fitbit, I saw how sensing research becomes products people rely on every day.
03
Now I am building systems aimed at more proactive care, healthier independence, and better support for ageing populations.
Systems, sensing, and interfaces for athlete performance and applied human-centered AI.
Selected demos, public appearances, and media coverage.
A growing body of work across applied computer vision and bioengineering.
A path from coaching and sports science into industry research and doctoral work.
Where I now build systems for health, performance, and ageing populations.
Aug 2025 to Present
Singapore Management University
I am now pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, building sensing systems for health and human performance with a long-term goal of improving care and support for ageing populations.
Jan 2025 to Aug 2025
Singapore Management University
I helped build real-time athlete tracking and performance systems, turning sensing and computer vision research into tools that coaches and teams could actually use.
Where sensing became something people could actually use, wear, and depend on.
Jul 2023 to Nov 2024
Google, Fitbit
At Google and Fitbit, I worked on research connected to the Pixel Watch and learned how sensing systems can move from research ideas into products that people may depend on every day.
Where I learned to think about people, pressure, recovery, and behavior in the real world.
Jun 2021 to Jul 2023
24 Hour Fitness
I ran a commercial gym for over two years, led customer growth, and discovered that I genuinely loved sales, business strategy, and the psychology behind why people commit to change.
Sep 2019 to Aug 2021
University of Florida Athletics
At Florida, I coached Division I football athletes and worked in sports science, which gave me a front-row view into how performance, recovery, and decision-making come together in elite environments.
Training across engineering, human performance, and computer science.
PhD, Computer Science (Aug 2025)
MS, Applied Physiology and Kinesiology - Human Performance (2019 - 2021)
MS, Bioengineering and Medical Nanotechnology (2014 - 2019)
A little more about how I spend time and what keeps me grounded outside the lab.
Outside the lab, I am usually in one of two places: on the mats or at the piano.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu keeps me close to discipline, repetition, and performance under pressure. I have also been playing the piano since I was 6 and completed all 8 grades through Trinity College London, so when training slows down I usually end up making music.
Competitive results that continue to shape how I think about performance and training.
